Pluto in the 11th House

Pluto is the planet of extremes, transformations, taboos, secrets and power (and the misuse or lack thereof).
The 11th house is that of the collective, of social networks, friends, clubs, organizations, and the dreams and aspirations we share with them.

Somebody with Pluto in the 11th house of the natal chart will attract manipulative friends and people who will transform their lives.
Their friends may be provocative and break taboos and they will keep secrets with or from their friends.
The bonds will either be intense or, on the extreme opposite, they will have a hard time opening up to those in their social circle.

Pluto is the dark side of human nature so, on a collective social scale, this placement is associated with secret organizations such as witch covens, underground clubs, the mafia, etc.
There is something exclusive about their club of friends.

Growing up, these people will struggle to fit in and find connections but fail and be left alone, feeling powerless and unable to find true belonging.
At a certain point, those with Pluto in the 11th house become fed up with superficial friendships. They realize that they are a waste of time and that they might as well be alone.
I think there's something great about being a loner who has learned to be fine on their own:
Socially, they have nothing to lose.

There's no point in a friendship in which you are not accepted completely.
If you can't be yourself around someone, you can't enjoy yourself.
Friendship is about two imperfect and flawed people opening up to and supporting each other.
Not about having someone cool to do cool things with.

There is comfort in hitting rock bottom because you can't go any lower.
There's empowerment in that.
After that, you can focus on finding deep, intense and real connections.
They are not dependent on being liked or accepted anymore.
Individuals with Pluto in the 11th house feel a need to get rid of all social conditioning.

Rather than trying to be liked and accepted, they will hit a point where they simply give up.
That's where the transformation happens.
And that's where the most intense, deep, and real connections will come from.

Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissible.
Carl Gustav Jung

  2. Hello Marina! I discovered your blog today and I feel in love with it! I've just begun my studies in astrology and it was a struck of luck to find your website!
I have just one question: do you prefer/admire Carl Jung's psychological concepts? I've seen some of his quotes on your blog, and I remember a teacher of mine explaining about Szondi's works (who also studied Jung's works) and he said that Jung would always read the birth chart of his patients. What do you think of this?
Other than that, keep up the good work! Wish you all the best! xxxx :)

    1. Hello Andressa :)
I love Carl Jung!! He, too, was fascinated with astrology and his psychological theories are very closely connected to astrology so the two go hand-in-hand. There are many astrologers who are also Jungian analysts and vice versa. Liz Greene is the most famous one who combines the two disciplines and I lover her books!
Thank you for enjoying my blog :))

  3. How can a mother support a still young child help negotiate this placement as she moves through the hard years of school. Honestly I know the answer inside me. I would like to hear your thoughts

  4. Thank you for pointing out the way this placement can cause one to move away from superficial friendships and demand the right to be oneself. This has been MY experience with this, and you hit it dead on. I appreciate your approach and find it more true than certain lecturing tones from astrologers. The combo of power, frankness and Plutonian mystery really requires that the native be true, no matter the consequences.
