Which Personality Traits Do You Reject? Descendent & Projection

I wanted to write about projection today - disidentifying ourselves with certain traits, projecting them onto others and failing to see them in ourselves.
Whatever we project onto others is indicated by the descendent/the 7th house in our horoscope.
The descendent is the point that starts the 7th house.

A friend of mine has saturn in his 7th house.
Saturn is the planet of strictness, harsh judgements as well as discipline.
He is constantly nagging on other people without realizing. He thinks he is the one being judged.
This is what happens in projection: We don't accept or even reject a part or trait of ourselves so much that it becomes unconscious and we see it in others instead of ourselves.
Of course, this usually happens with bad traits.

What Is Your Descendent Sign?

The descendent sign is always the opposite sign of the Ascendent (which you can calculate here)
It is crucial for you to know the exact time of your birth, because this is what determines the ascendent and descendent sign!

The respective opposing signs are: Aries-Libra; Taurus-Scorpio; Gemini-Sagittarius; Cancer-Capricorn; Leo-Aquarius; Virgo-Pisces

So, for example, when you have an Aries Ascedent, your descendent is Libra, and so on!

Next to the descendent sign, the planets falling into the 7th house (as in the example above) are also parts of ourselves that we tend to reject and project.

Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness of other people.
Carl Jung

  1. Do you have any suggestions of how one may go about integrating that which we may be projecting? I have a Sag descendant with BOTH Saturn and Uranus at 29 degrees of Sag,literally conjunct with my descendant. I have become aware of my... projections and would very much like to work on them. Any help is appreciated!

  2. Oh God. I have an empty 7th and my descendant is Leo. My Saturn is Leo retrograde in the very beginning of the 6th/end of 5th depending on house system. I worked in the recording industry and apologized for any success and attention because even now I feel like turd at self promotion and ended up as an artist and performer by accidental circumstances. But careers that put me in the public eye (10th house Scorpio sun) 5th house Gemini moon.... I'm like plagued with the paradox of facing that shadow. Blah I think I answered my own...ugh. I didn't even address the 8th house stellium. I'm in trouble because I stick out like rat poop in the sugar bowl when I try to do a straight job. Mergatroid! Any input greatly appreciated. I'm actually an astrologer. But my own chart is confounding. Physician heal thyself...only Chiron can do THAT. Eek. Chatterbox moon. Thanks, Marina.
