What is Astrology? How and Why does it work?

Our senses are selective.
You can see less than 1% of the electromagnetic spectrum and hear less then 1% of the acoustic spectrum.
Some animals can't see rainbows because they don't have the receptors needed. So you don't just see a rainbow, you create it. Everything you experience with your senses sight, touch, smell, taste, sound does not exist on itself - you create it in your mind.
Everything is just electromagnetic waves until your body translates it into a sound, a sight etc.
That's why you say "If a tree falls down in a forest and nobody is there to hear it, it makes no sound."
The radio waves of all broadcasting station are surrounding you at this very moment, but you can only hear them if you switch the radio on and it "translates" them. Because your brain is not capable of doing that.
There are energies you are not aware of and that you cannot translate and therefore experience but this does not mean that they do not exist.

Now, astrology says there are energy fields around us which are continously influencing us.
Scientists know that every celestial body has its own unique electromagnetic waves and gravitational pull (like the moon that causes the tides of the ocean).
The waves that reach us from Jupiter, for example are different from those that reach us from Venus.

Every child is born into a specific constellation of celestial bodies.
Every planet (with its energetical influence) represents an archetypal princriple.
However the planets or different energetical principles work together and are constellated, as seen from the earth, they will imprint themselves in the new-borns mind.
The cosmic situation at that moment, with all its weaknesses, strengths and capabilities influences that child for the rest of its life.
So, what astrology basically says is that we are a sort of extension of the universe, a representation of it in human form.
This is the theory of "As above, so below", or macrocosm and microcosm - we literally are a human manifestation of the universe at a specific time and place.
You are the universe expressing itself and experiencing itself.
